Travel Insurance


It is your responsibility to take out appropriate travel insurance as soon as possible after confirming your booking. 

It is a requirement of our booking conditions that every Riviera Travel passenger is in possession of valid travel insurance for the full duration of your trip.

If you have not organised this yet, please make sure you are covered before you leave home.

You are free to choose any travel insurance policy, however you should ensure that your policy provides at least the same benefits as the scheme offered by Riviera Travel.


Our policy

Please note, our policies do not provide cover for cancellation, abandonment or curtailment claims if the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against all or “all but essential” travel.

Our policies will also not cover any claims caused by or relating to Coronavirus, COVID-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-COV-2), any mutation of Coronavirus, COVID-19 or SARs-COV-2 or any pandemic or fear or threat of any the above. We also can not cover any claims relating to any fear or threat concerning these viruses. This general exclusion applies to all sections of cover except for the Emergency Medical Expenses section. Travel insurance is provided by Riviera Travel (FRN 455993) as an appointed representative of Travel & General Insurance Services Limited (FRN 304788) who are authorised and regulated by the FCA.

Details can be found on their website www.fca.org.uk. The policy is underwritten by UK General on behalf of Great Lakes Insurance SE. 

  • There are exclusions relating to any pre-existing medical conditions for you and anyone on whom your travel plans depend (such as a Close Relative).
  • Please call our dedicated Healthcheck team on 0203 829 6637 and they will be able to advise you of the cover available.
  • You will be provided with a policy booklet and confirmation certificate, please read both carefully to ensure that the cover provided meets your needs.
  • If for any reason you are not happy with the policy, you can return it to us within 14 days for a full refund provided that you have not travelled or made a claim.

Please ensure that your travel insurance policy covers you for any activities that you plan to undertake on your holiday.

You should always carry your policy documents and the 24 hour emergency number with you on your holiday.

We would also suggest that you leave a copy with a friend or relative.
