Austria’s official language is German—specifically Austrian German. Near border regions, you may also hear Slovenian, Hungarian, or Croatian. English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

Austria has airports in Vienna, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. For Riviera’s tours to Austria, you’ll fly into Munich or Innsbruck. Munich is a major hub with excellent transport links; Innsbruck is smaller and ideal for Alpine access.

Austria uses the Euro (€), adopted in 2002 to replace the Austrian Schilling. You’ll need Euros for all purchases during your Austria tours.
