Atlanta – Holiday Inn Express Downtown – The three-star Holiday Inn Express is located in a central location, just a short stroll from Centennial Olympic Park where you’ll find the Civil Rights Museum, the World of Coca Cola and Aquarium. There are also a couple of restaurants close-by. The hotel has a small fitness room and also provides safety deposit boxes at reception. The 173 air-conditioned rooms all have bath/shower, hairdryer, iron/board, mini-fridge, cable TV, tea/coffee-maker and complimentary wifi. Buffet breakfast is included.

Chattanooga – The three-star superior Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel (www.choochoo.com). Converted from its original status as a train station/terminus and located in the heart of Downtown Chattanooga, the hotel is set in beautiful gardens with its flora, fountains and historic architecture, the gardens are a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town.   There are a number of dining options including the classics, steak, ribs and seafood. Snacks are available from the Silver Diner, an old converted train carriage. Breakfast is taken in the restaurant overlooking the gardens. There is also an indoor and outdoor pool.  The standard rooms are furnished to a good standard with free wireless internet, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron & ironing board.

Nashville – The three-star Hyatt Place Opryland (nashvilleopryland.place.hyatt.com/) The three-star superior Hyatt Place is located close to Grand Ole Opry auditorium, the General Jackson Showboat paddlewheeler and about a mile from the huge Opry Mills Mall. Downtown Nashville is around a 10-minute drive away, but there’s also several restaurants (some with live music) within walking distance. The hotel has a small outdoor pool and a bar which also serves coffee in the mornings, plus there’s a ‘room service’ dinner menu available to order and collect from the bar. All the 125 air-conditioned rooms have separate sitting area, shower, hairdryer, iron/board, mini-fridge, cable TV, tea/coffee-maker and complimentary wifi. Buffet breakfast is included.

Nashville - Hampton Inn & Suites at Opryland - The three-star superior Hampton Inn is located close to Grand Ole Opry auditorium, the General Jackson Showboat paddlewheeler and about a mile from the huge Opry Mills Mall. Memphis – The three-star Comfort Inn Downtown (www.choicehotels.com/tennessee/memphis/comfort-inn-hotels) is situated within walking distance of Beale Street and overlooks the Mississippi and Mud Island River Park. The hotel has an outdoor pool and small gym, but does not have any dining options facilities, however there are many restaurants and bars on and around Beale Street. The 71 well furnished rooms are modern and spacious and are well equipped with coffee maker, fridge, Iron TV, and safe.

Memphis - DoubleTree by Hilton – The three-star superior DoubleTree is located right in the centre of downtown Memphis, just three blocks from the lively bars and music venues of Beale Street and 10 miles from Graceland. There are plenty of restaurants close-by. The hotel’s facilities include a rooftop pool and fitness centre, as well as a TGI Friday’s restaurant on the premises. New Orleans - Courtyard by Marriott Downtown/Iberville – The three-star superior Courtyard is in a prime position within the French Quarter and a short walk from all the area’s restaurants and attractions. The hotel is also connected to the Ritz Carlton, whose bar is a great place for pre-dinner drinks. The hotel’s Vieux Carre café serves breakfast and craft beers and pizzas in the evenings. San Antonio – the three-star superior Menger Hotel (www.mengerhotel.com/) The three-star superior Menger Hotel is located in the centre of San Antonio, just across the road from The Alamo and within easy walking distance of all the many al-fresco restaurants and bars along the lively River Walk area of the city. This property is the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Mississippi and as a member of the Historic Hotels of America, the Menger has preserved much of its architecture, as well as numerous antiques and works of art. The impressive three-storey Victorian atrium in the old wing is the centre of the hotel, but it’s heart is the famous Menger Bar, dating from 1887, panelled in dark Cherrywood, it even has the original spittoons! The Colonial Room restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and also offers outdoor seating overlooking the heated pool. Dallas – Courtyard by Marriott Downtown/Blackstone – Fort Worth The three-star superior Courtyard is right in the centre of Fort Worth, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Dating from 1929, this historic art-deco building is a landmark in Fort Worth. The hotel’s casual Deli & Bakery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it also has a small outdoor pool and fitness room. All the 203 air-conditioned rooms have bath/shower, hairdryer, iron/board, cable TV, tea/coffee-maker and complimentary wifi. Buffet breakfast is included.
