Latest India & Nepal Tour Testimonial

  1. We thought that we would send you our congratulations for what has turned out to be the holiday of a lifetime. Our recent trip to India and Nepal has provided us with so many experiences that we will treasure. The venues were fantastic, but what I would particularly like to highlight is how the Tour Guide, Sarah; along with regional guides, Sanjay and Vivec, made the trip so fulfilling.

Firstly, Sarah, who apart from being most entertaining, was able to ensure that everything went without a hitch. The ‘tip kitty’ was a brilliant concept and took out a lot of the potential hassle from our various trips and stop-overs. For her, it must have been a bit like herding cats, at times, especially near shops and markets; but she coped admirably and did lose anyone, even when we were surrounded by thousands at Varanasi. She is a real star.

Sanjay and Vivec provided us with an illuminating insight into life in their respective countries and were also helpful and entertaining.

The handling of our baggage from hotel rooms to various venues was effective and again removed a potential pain the butt. The above three were always around to anticipate potential problems.

The organisation of all means of transport was extremely effective. Everything was on time and where it was expected to be. No mean feat bearing in mind the scale of operation. We were also impressed how the various hotels and restaurants in Nepal (and their staff) were able to cope with restricted power, caused by the blockade of the border.

We requested an additional trip, to the Bamboo school in Kathmandu that Riviera supports. Everyone was moved by the experience. The impression had been given, possibly incorrectly, that up to that point, we had been being shielded from seeing the devastation that had occurred in the area. We were all bowled over by the resilience of the people we met and how they were coping with the effects of both the earthquake and blockade of the border.

Overall, this has been a fantastic experience and we have no hesitation in strongly recommending Riviera to friends. Our thanks go to you and all those who contributed to making this holiday so memorable (and such good value for money).
